Novena to St. Padre Pio

Nine days of prayer to St. Pio of Pietrelcina. Pray the daily prayer every day, then the day's own prayer, and close each day with the closing prayer.

The daily prayer (every day)

Dear God, you generously blessed your servant St. Pio of Pietrelcina with the gift of sharing in the sufferings of your Son. Grant that through his intercession I may receive the grace I now implore; and may I imitate his constant prayer, his patience, and his trust in your providence. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The nine days

Day 1

St. Pio, faithful priest, draw me to the heart of the Mass and confession.

Day 2

St. Pio, who bore the wounds of Christ, teach me to offer my suffering with love.

Day 3

St. Pio, tireless in the confessional, lead me to true repentance.

Day 4

St. Pio, man of constant prayer, make me faithful to daily prayer.

Day 5

St. Pio, who said 'pray, hope, and don't worry,' free me from anxiety.

Day 6

St. Pio, friend of the suffering, comfort all who are sick today.

Day 7

St. Pio, devoted to our Lady, deepen my love for the Rosary.

Day 8

St. Pio, humble and obedient, free me from pride and self-will.

Day 9

St. Pio, faithful intercessor, present my petition to the Lord.

Closing prayer (every day)

St. Pio of Pietrelcina, who taught us to pray, hope, and not worry, intercede for us, and obtain from God the grace we now humbly ask. Amen.
