Novena to St. Jude

Nine days of prayer to St. Jude Thaddeus. Pray the daily prayer every day, then the day's own prayer, and close each day with the closing prayer.

The daily prayer (every day)

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honours and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, who am so helpless and alone. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Amen.

The nine days

Day 1

St. Jude, kinsman of the Lord, intercede for me in the cause I now place before God.

Day 2

St. Jude, faithful apostle, strengthen my faith when the situation seems hopeless.

Day 3

St. Jude, friend of Jesus, teach me to trust in his providence and timing.

Day 4

St. Jude, patron of the despairing, lift the discouragement that weighs on me.

Day 5

St. Jude, herald of the gospel, give me courage to keep praying and not give up.

Day 6

St. Jude, helper in desperate need, present my petition to the throne of mercy.

Day 7

St. Jude, model of perseverance, keep me faithful through this trial.

Day 8

St. Jude, comforter of the afflicted, console all who feel abandoned today.

Day 9

St. Jude, faithful intercessor, obtain for me the grace I so earnestly seek.

Closing prayer (every day)

St. Jude, apostle of Christ and worker of wonders, pray for us and for all who invoke your aid. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favour, and to honour you as my special patron. Amen.
